Even though it's already February, our 2025 goals post is better late than never! Here are some of our big picture goals for Postcard Row and what you can expect in 2025.
Blog Posts
We have been and plan to continue with our weekly POSTcards on Substack, but we don't want to forget about our blog posts here! We want helpful needlepoint content to live here, including needlepoint finishing ideas, tutorials, details on our new collections, and other things that don't fit into our weekly POSTs! Our goal last year was at least one blog post a month, and we are going to try to do the same this year.
New Needlepoint Canvas Designs
We are constantly designing needlepoint canvases! Through the last year, we toyed with both designing full collections, and designing one off canvases and either listing them for preorder or waiting to drop them once they are ready -- all to varying success! While having a "collection" in mind is helpful when we need inspiration to design canvases, our most successful and popular canvases have been those that just come to us. This year, we are going to continue just letting designs come to us and releasing them when we feel ready. Another thing we want to work on this year is appropriately ordering inventory! A LOT of our canvases were sold out through all of January and we want to try to avoid that this year when we can!
Stitched Samples
We have felt strongly that we should have a stitched sample of all of our needlepoint canvases so that our customers can see the possibilities of what their canvases could be. We have been working towards this but sometimes other canvases cut in our stitching line... One of our favorite things is dropping hints of new designs that we are stitching samples of, so be sure to follow us on our social media platforms!
New Merch
It's no secret that we love NDLPT merch here, and we are always thinking about new things that we might want for ourselves, that hopefully someone else would want too! We have seen great success with our matching "My New Project" needleminder and project bag combo, and we are hoping to come up with even more new designs to help everyone organize and travel with their needlepoint in the future.
Besides needleminders, project bags, and sweatshirt/hat apparel that we already have on site, we would love to come up with another NDLPT related merch product that we can put our own spin on. Stay tuned for that!
Needlepoint Events
We are continuing to host our monthly free stitch clubs every third Thursday of the month somewhere in San Francisco, but we are really hoping to branch out to more planned destination-type events around Northern California (Napa and Carmel, we are looking at you!). Hosting an anniversary party, beginner class(es), a sip and stitch retreat day, and a stitch-along weekend somewhere pretty are on our list of things to plan. We would love to put California on the map for needlepoint retreats.
Needlepoint Market
We are starting to branch out even more with wholesaling to needlepoint stores, and we would really love to join the fun of market! We considered signing up for Spring Market this year, but ultimately decided we still weren't ready for the logistics and costs that would go into it. We will be taking copious notes on what other stores are doing so that we can feel as ready as we can be for Fall Market! Hope you'll see us there!
