Since we have been traveling so much this summer, we wanted to compile our top items that we can't live without when traveling with needlepoint (besides a canvas, needle, thread, and needleminder)!
1. Extra needles! We can't tell you how many times we have dropped our sole needle into the abyss of a chair never to be found again. We now try to bring at least two needles per canvas in case we lose one (these needles also come in a great tin!)
2. Waterproof project bag. While we love our canvas J'adore project bags, if you're going somewhere with water, you definitely should consider a waterproof project bag. We may or may not be coming out with our own waterproof bags soon, so stay tuned! Lately, we've been using these bags from Amazon that come with various sizes!
3. Scissors + Threader. Ideally the two are attached (see Bridget's pink scissors + threader in the image above)! It makes it so much easier to tie your threader onto your scissors to have fewer things to manage while stitching on the go. Different airports have different rules when it comes to scissor size, but these are almost always accepted and a go-to when flying!
4. Ort port! Bridget uses clear plastic bags to put all of her orts (Isabella refuses to call them orts and calls them tails) in - that way they aren't ending up all over the car / airplane / hotel room. Plus, it's fun to see all the colors at the end of your trip!
5. Hand sanitizer. This might be a weird quirk, but Bridget always worries about her hands being grimy and that leading to a grimy canvas + thread. It might just be placebo effect, but she loves to do a quick spray with hand sanitizer before getting started.
All of our needlepoint travel essentials are also linked in our Amazon storefront!
